Reasons for healthy living & motivation

In the past year I have made some life-long, solid changes to my own life-style, so when writing this blog I can vouch for the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. From 3 tins of red-bull a day, to having energy and sugary drinks eliminated out of my life completely. nutritoponFrom Rustlers Burgers to breakfast and A packet of Doritos for lunch, I have came pretty far.

It was not exactly the easiest step to take, and usually we have to see a problem with our current state, in order for change to come about. So I will share with you some of the benefits which come along with a maintaining healthy lifestyle, in hopes that you may change your life in the same way I did. SAY YES TO CHANGE!

The most solid benefit which I believe we all want, woman or man,  is improved confidence. When we begin working on our body, after time, we start to see changes occurring, both mentally and physically. That 5 minute run you were struggling with last month? and you’re now bossing 10 minutes? Now you can take on the world!! Those last 2 reps are easy now, when this time last week you couldn’t have imagined squeezing any more rep! This undoubtedly gives us such a sense of achievement and resilience which can spiral out to all areas of our lives.

What seems impossible today, will one day be your warm-up.

The sweat from work-outs, and the healthy nutrients from our healthy balanced-diet, with a high water intake, instantly improves the health and the look of our skin.

Once you start to see our body changing thanks to exercise and a healthy diet, you will never want to turn back to those unhealthy ways.

When what we see looking back at us in the mirror, getting sexier and sexier? HELL YES. Improving body image, calls for improved confidence and is a certain mood booster. (this also in-turn improves our self-love)

One of the main benefits for me is that exercising and healthy-eating are extreme happiness drugs. Legit, these are your equivalent of Ecstasy pills(don’t do drugs, btw). Exercise is scientifically proven to make us happier, releasing feel-good brain chemicals called Endorphin’s from our body.

Go to that gym class tonight with a friend, or alone, and see how great you feel when you walk out. I can guarantee you’ll feel like a BO$$.

Exercise is also great for depression and low-self esteem, trust me.

A recent study has shown ”those who were completing 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise, enjoyed greater longevity benefits and 31 percent less risk of dying during the 14-year period compared with those who never exercised.”

So, if we want to live long-lives to raise our children, or finally move country after retirement? You better start exercising. Choosing healthy-foods over sugary, fatty meals, will not only help you lose pounds, but it may be the difference between you developing a heart disease.

Why wouldn’t you start now?

”I lack motivation.”

Well, here’s how to motivate yourself. Read this blog, and do your own research, then have a long-hard think about WHY you aren’t starting now? Is your own health unimportant?

Set goals

This time in 2 months, what would you like to be achieving? Two gym classes per week? To be lifting heavier weights? Be specific, set goals, then strive to achieve them. Repeat.

Find your ‘why?’

Write down some reasons why you would like to exercise and eat healthy. Let this be your motivation – look back on this list when you feel like giving up, then, keep going.

Focus on happiness

Just remind yourself, even if you don’t see results physically, that you are improving your mental strength every day.

worth it

Just begin

Once you start, it will get easier, and trust me, you will not want to give up once you have started!! It get’s easier as the time passes.

If not now, when?

Last week, you said next week. Start. You don’t have have a fancy gym membership, or the nicest gym clothes. You can exercise from the comfort of your own bed-room, there are many YouTube vids to guide you through your work-out. Go for a morning run around the estate. Just do it. excuses

Remember, any exercise is better than no exercise.

A year from now, you’ll be glad you started today.

start now

Peace and Love,

Yassy B
